Friendly People

Thailand is often referred to as “the land of smiles” for the friendliness of its people.

Academic Excellence

Bangkok, as well as other major cities in Thailand, is home to prestigious universities and educational institutions, attracting students from around the world. These institutions offer a wide range of programs and courses, ensuring that students have ample opportunities to pursue their academic interests while benefitting from the expertise of renowned professors and researchers. Whether your focus is on business, art and design, sciences, or humanities, Thailand's universities provide stimulating academic environments to enhance your learning journey.

Modest Culture

Though the weather gets quite hot, Thai people are very modest in the way they dress. It is uncommon for men or women to expose their shoulders or too much skin. Typical streetwear includes short sleeve shirts, and bottoms that hit at the knee or below. In particular, when visiting temples and shrines, often visitors will be told they must cover their shoulders, chests, midriffs, and knees in order to enter revered cultural and religious landmarks.

Religious Life

Over 90% of the population in Thailand are Buddhist and follow these traditions. You can hardly look up without seeing a beautiful temple, and Spirit Houses can be seen outside most homes and business establishments. Spirit Houses are shrines to the protective spirit of a place, found in many Southeast Asian countries. They are made up of three main parts: a pillar or dais, miniature house structure placed on top, and offerings left for the spirits. These offerings range from fresh fruit to candy, and even sometimes Fanta soda or other treats.

In Thailand most men become ordained as monks, at least for a short time (sometimes 1-3 months) in their youth, as a rite of passage and as a way to show both respect to their Buddhist faith and also gain familial merit. For some this is considered one of the most important times in their life.

Delicious Cuisine

Thai cuisine is as diverse as its people and so much more than the pad thai you might order from your local Thai-American restaurant. One of the healthiest cuisines in the world, fresh vegetables & herbs are used liberally in traditional Thai cooking.
